we are all humans with spirit, soul and body and our bodies need to be healthy for the spirit and soul to dwell therein. Often, we crave for food and drinks that satisifies our wants for the need to eat or satisfy hunger and possibly our taste buds and not necessarily what we need for healthy living. someone who is not conscious or does not pay attention to what He/She eats will end up not eating with little or no nutritional value. Take for example, when a person is thirsty, there is the urge to grab a softdrink/Beverage instead of water, and this is irrespective of the contents of the Soft drink/Beverage, in variably the sugar, preservatives, additives, colour, and other agents present in these beverages are not naturally expedient to the body's need. I want to Quickly affirm the essence of fruits when a meal is served, soft drinks cannot substitute fruits and vegetables in a meal, the contents of a soft drink are not natural, and as such cannot meet the body's mineral requirements as much as fruits and vegetables would.
We should place a limit to our sugar intake, this is essential to improving and maintaining our health, Women should not take in more than six(6) spoonfuls of sugar each day, that translates to about 24 grams of added sugar and about 100 calories. Men should not have more than Nine(9) tea spoons of sugar daily, which sums up to about 36 grams of added sugar and about 150 calories.
Excess sugar in your diet can contribute to tooth decay, weight gaining and certain illnesses and diseases. So when next you are set before a bottle of Beverage and a Doughnut, ask yourself; Does it have any nutritional value? The Answer is your to decide.
