It is a notable misplace of priority for the Armed Forces who are constitutionally charged with protecting the citizenry to be accused of falling short of that duty, to the extent that the people feel aggrieved in the disposition of their fundamental rights.
The Headquarters of The Nigerian Navy has released a press statement debunking such claims, but the fact remains that it is on record that Officers of the Armed Forces engage in bizzare punitive measures on citizenry in a bid to promote public order and security.
This issue requires urgent national redress.
